Diana Records Record High Vote Count After Admin Interference
Diana, the Mythological Pet Caretaker, has officially broken the record for the highest number of votes a regular mayor has ever received, at a total of 1,175,022 votes. This breaks the previously set record that Paul achieved exactly 100 Skyblock years ago, which was at 1,048,744.
This comes after an increasingly hectic election, which started with Paul, the previous record holder, leading with a small margin. Projections at Skyblock Elections suggested that Diana was more likely than not to overtake Paul as the election progressed. However, only 12.5 hours into the election, admin interference led to a massive change.
The admins switched Diana's Pet XP Buff perk to the Mythological Ritual perk, which is one of the most popular mayor perks within the game. Skyblock Elections keeps a rolling record every 5 minutes of election numbers, and looking at the graph shown here, this interference caused an instant change, with Pauls lead being removed completely within 10 minutes.
An outage at the start of the Year 500 Century event caused a rapid slow in votes, but not a complete stop - suggesting that some players were still able to access Skyblock during it's outage. Overall, this was a highly anomalous election - with an extreme switch up at the start, and an outage halfway through for Skyblock. See the full election data below.
In this election, Diana has broken 2 records. Her personal best for all time votes, and the record for the highest amount of votes from a normal mayor (non-special or one off). Not only that, Diana has beaten Derpy's all time vote record, set in Year 368-369 at 1,161,501, showing how anomalous and dominant this electoral performance has been. And with the 60 tracking now guaranteed along with this, I think most players would agree this is probably going to be one of the most ridiculous Diana events of all time.
